In our opinion – the best low cost option. These connectors have a slim and long profile; they feature gold plated contacts and a rubber boot for strain relief. Neutrik have made a significant improvement on them over the past couple of years that may not be particularly obvious. The ground contacts (sleeve of the connector) have adopted a very effective profile that minimises the contact resistance by adjusting to the small tolerance variations of the RCA sockets. The thinner “ground plates” facing inwards, deliver a spring like effect to ensure that they neither cause wear to the socket nor have a  loose fit. Although these Neutrik Rean RCAs are very basic connectors, they have become an industry standard and we strongly believe that in such a price range they cannot be matched by other alternatives. No, we would not describe them as audiophile connectors but they are much better performers than many luxury RCAs that one can fined fitted on “audiophile” cables.

Deltron 332:

Deltron is one of the oldest and most well known British manufactures, designing and producing audio connectors since 1946. Deltron RCA connectors are manufactured in the UK from turned brass. The 332 version features a hollow central pin and a patented T-Slot ground contact which allows maximum contact even on undersized phono sockets. The connector is finished with a flash gold plating (nickel free). Its very small profile is ideal for use on equipment where space is limited. Overall, a very well machined, classic RCA connector.

Deltron 330:

This version features a silver plated hollow central pin and a patented T-Slot ground contact (nickel blated) which allows maximum contact even on undersized phono sockets. Its very small profile is ideal for use on equipment where space is limited. Overall, a very well machined, classic RCA connector.

Switchcraft 3502A:

This is a US manufactured connector, very popular among users of some vintage audio equipment. Minimal & durable construction. It features a solid, nickel plated brass central pin. This is the most popular version of the connector. We are not particularly keen on nickel plated connectors. However, if you use vintage equipment with nickel or tinned sockets these RCA plugs are an excellent mating option. A gold plated version (plating contains nickel) is also available (3502ABAU) as well as a nickel one with smaller profile and hollow central pin (3502).

Switchcraft 3502ABAU:

This is the gold plated version of the 3502A.

Switchcraft 3502:

This version of the Switchcraft RCA has an extremely small profile All nickel plated, with a hollow central pin manufactured out of a very good quality copper alloy. Great for use on vintage equipment when space is an issue.

Carbon fiber locking RCAs:

Very well made RCA connectors featuring rhodium plated Tellurium copper contacts and Teflon insulation. The outer barrel is finished with a carbon fiber layering. Excellent shielding ability and very good overall performance.

Starline RCA plugs:

The Starline RCAs feature a single point ground, low mass design (very similar principle to what is used on Eichmann Bullet plugs, KLEI Harmony plugs etc). The starline design holds its own patent. The plug manages effectively to minimize the impact of the connector on the signal. These starlines are available with either direct (nickel free) gold or rhodium plating and they all feature a Tellurium copper central contact (hollow) and an OFC copper ground contact. Despite their minimal appearance, these connectors will perform much better than their price suggests; and we would strongly recommend them for any hi-fidelity cable.

KLE Innovations - Harmony plugs:

The harmony plugs have been designed and produced by the inventor of the Eichmann Bullet Plug. So they are very similar to them.

WBT NextGen 0114Cu & 0110Ag:

The WBT NextGen are the best RCA connectors that are available in the market. They are some of the most expensive ones, too. However, unlike other examples, you do not simply pay for a brand name but for a unique, innovative design executed at the highest standards, using the best available materials for the purpose.
